For something that's listed alongside Shakespeare's work as core texts for HSC English of all levels, you'd expect it to be at least somewhat competent in engaging the reader, but it turns out to be a pile of pretentious and self-conscious rubbish; There is no rhyme or meter----take away all the line breaks and they read like diary entries by a pretentious 12-year-old kid who has only just learnt a handful of new words.

🤷♀Unpopular opinion: I really like Peter Skrzynecki's poetry.

Nobody loves me coz I'm aan immigrant and my daddy no speaking the English! They're very neat and crisp which I wouldn't normally like in poetry but I do here.

It seems chilly and awkward and gives the impression the writer had an uncomfortable life.Very early in your study you must be clear about what you are doing, because you need to filter all the information available to make sure your efforts are relevant.I recommend also careful examination of past HSC questions and published exam answers to refine that filtering.
